Shields 2026

All teams shall consist of five players

Scratch Shield

In order to enter the Scratch Shield a club must have at least 1 member, with a Handicap Index no higher than 9.4, entitled to represent them in Lancashire Golf competitions. 

All players must have a Handicap Index no higher than 18.0

Players may not compete with a higher Handicap Index. 

Handicap Shield

The Handicap Shield is for players with a Handicap Index between 9.5 and 24.0

One player with a Handicap Index of 9.4 or less is permitted to compete in Handicap Shield matches.

In order for this player to participate in the Divisional Finals and beyond, she must have played in a minimum of three first round Divisional Group Handicap Shield Matches. 

Bronze Shield

The Bronze Shield is for players with a Handicap Index between 24.0 and 40.0

One player with a Handicap Index between 9.5 and 23.9 is permitted to compete in the Bronze Shield matches.

In order for this player to participate in the Divisional Finals and beyond, she must have played in a minimum of three first round Divisional Group Bronze Shield Matches.
