The successful Lancashire Golf County Academy Programme is the gateway to the county’s talent development pathway, providing support for many of Lancashire’s aspiring young golfers. The County Academy Programme is a steppingstone, creating the opportunity for talented boys to transition into the County Performance Squads and beyond.

The academy programme is designed for boys who are showing an ever-increasing commitment towards developing their game. It provides 20 hours of structured coaching with highly experienced PGA golf coaches. Small coaching groups based around individual and group sessions target the key skills for assisting committed boys achieve their golfing potential.

The academy programme is designed to complement a young player's current development and not replace training with their home coach/club. To get the most from the programme and training sessions, all boys will need to be fully committed and practice new learnt skills when they return to their home clubs.

‘We fully expect our future county squads and teams to have come through the County Academy Programme’

To qualify for entry:

Boys aged 16 and under on December 31st, 2021

Handicap index of 24 and below for boys aged 16 & 15

Handicap index of 36 and below for boys aged 14 and under

If you fall outside these age and handicap requirements do please contact us and we'll try and help you with the development of your game.

Payment of £75 for CAP is required upon application (PayPal) and covers all coaching actives and a Lancashire T-Shirt.

NB: Some bursaries are available for appropriate applicants and enquiries can be made to secretary@lancashiregolf.org

The programme is expected to commence in April 2021. Now that a date for the return of golf has been given we fully expect to complete our planned programme However, should COVID-19 restrictions prevent the programme from taking place a full refund will be given.

  • Lancashire beat Durham at Tyneside

    Tuesday 14th September 2021

    The Lancashire team completed their 4th match of the season with a very comprehensive away victory against Durham at the picturesque Tyneside Golf Club. Having won the morning foursomes matches 4 - 2 the team put in a very strong afternoon singles performance to complete a 13.5 - 4.5 victory, The final match of the season will be against Northumberland at Hurlston Hall on Sunday 3rd October. Although the team can't win the league (Yorkshire have already achieved that) they are keen to finish second and a victory in the final match will secure this.

  • Lancashire U16 Boys finish the season with defeat against Cheshire

    Tuesday 7th September 2021

    The Lancashire Boys Under 16 team finished the season at Ellesmere Golf Club with match against Cheshire Under 16 Boys. A good morning performance saw the team take a deserved 2.5 to 1.5 lead going into the afternoon singles. But the Cheshire team won the first 5 singles matches in the afternoon. Good wins from Tom Davies and James O'Toole couldn't prevent a final score of 7.5 to 4.5 to Cheshire. Good experience for the boys and we're they'll be all the better for it next year.

  • Lancashire Boys victorious over Lancashire Girls at a sunny Haydock Park Golf Club

    Tuesday 7th September 2021

    Lancashire Boys were successful in defeating their counterparts in Lancashire Girls by 7 points to 5 in the annual match between the two. After the Boys took the morning foursomes matches 3 -1 the afternoon singles were much closer with the Boys team getting over the line by winning the final two matches on the 17th and 18th holes.
