Kenwright bowls them over

IAN Kenwright gave himself a perfect boost in preparation for his defence of
the Lancashire County Championship at Ormskirk later this month when he won
the Southport & Ainsdale Bowl, writes DAVID BIRTILL.
The Haydock Park plus three ranked player also collected his first points of
the season in the Galvin Green Northern Order of Merit to move into a
three-way share of third place.
He opened with a two-over 74 but stormed back with four birdies in a 68 to
post a level par total, two shots ahead of second place West Lancs youngster
James Rooney.
Meanwhile, Kenwright's Lancashire team-mate John Carroll, from
Huyton & Prescot, who finished third, took pole position in the merit race
to lead Heswall's Tom Dolan by 35 points.
