A Great weekend for Lancashire!

Sunday saw the women's Inter Club Scratch Team Tournament, with teams of four from each of the entered clubs playing at Royal Lytham & St Annes for the coveted trophy. Conditions were really tough, with severe rough and windy conditions, but a superb performance from the West Lancashire team saw them triumph, with w reversal of last year's top two result over Royal Birkdale. The team produced the three lowest scores of the day to win, and we are delighted that two of their team will be representing Lancashire next week in Women's County Match week against the other northern counties, to try and qualify for the national county finals.

Our boys team were also away against Durham in their first northern counties league match of the season, with a mix of experience and new players in the side. There were some great performances from our more experienced players such as Jake Maloret, Zak Sturgeon and Ben Barton, with our recently crowned boy county champion, George Whitehead, also having a great win in the singles. Zak was particularly impressive with two really good wins in the morning foursomes and afternoon singles.

Finally, our new mens county champion, Tom Hughes, continued his rich vein of form by winning the Ormskirk Lathom Eagle, which saw four of our team members dominate the first five places. Well done to all who played!
