MARK Duncalf capitalised on home advantage in the Galvin Green Northern
Order of Merit to win the Formby Hare, finishing a shot in front of fellow
clubmates David Illingsworth and Geoff Harris, writes DAVID BIRTILL.
He set off in blistering style with two birdies in the first three holes and
an eagle two sandwiched between them on his way to a 74. He then picked up
five more shots in a second round 69 for a one-under-par total.
Heswall's Tom Dolan held on to second place in the merit table 35 points
adrift of leader John Carroll, from Huyton & Prescot.
Richie Blundell, from Hillside, was five points behind Dolan in third spot
with Haydock Park's Ian Kenwright, the previous week's winner at Southport &
Ainsdale, sharing third with Duncalf.
