LANCASHIRE maintained their 100 per cent record in the Daily Telegraph
Northern Counties League when they defeated Cumbria 13.6-4.5 at Appleby.
After winning the foursomes 4-2 they moved up another gear in the singles,
losing only one of the 12 ties and halving three as the hosts capitulated.
Most impressive performance was delivered by Lancaster's Jack Clarkson, who
dispatched Darren Whitfield 6&5, while Richie Blundell, from Hillside,
overcame William Postlethwaite 5&3, Ashton-under-Lyne's Luke Kelly matched
his score against Rob Spence.
