LANCASHIRE CHAMPION REACHES FINAL OF THE AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Fellow county players John Carroll, David Corsby and Matthew Nixon also qualified for the match play stages.

LANCASHIRE AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Fleetwood wins title after play off.

Tommy Fleetwood (Formby Hall), pictured above with President Mike Yates, and Matthew Nixon (Ashton under Lyne) tied on 299 (11 over par) on a windswept Formby golf course. Both players were level on 1 under par after the three hole play off and so the play off then went on to sudden death. At the first extra hole, the 15th at Formby, Fleetwood's par 4 was enough to win the title.
A full list of results for Rounds 1 to 4 can be found on the RESULTS page.
