The day started on a very cold note with frost in the ground and the chance of the foursomes being suspended. All greens were on temporary’s and would remain so till 11am .
After consultation with the Cumbria Captain it was agreed to commence play at 10..00am. The first 3 holes were played to temporary greens.
The momentum in the foursomes looked to be swaying in Lancashires favour but a hard battled recovery from Cumbria saw them draw level at Lunchtime.
In the single matches Lancashire were always the chasers rather than front runners and that is how it rolled out despite some hard fought matches.
There were some notable exceptions however with Ian stirling winning 4/3 and Adam Stone digging deep to win 2up. Simon Robinson maintained 100% for the day with a very consistent performance.
The very cold weather did affect short game and approach shots and it was a good experience for the younger part of the team.
