LANCASHIRE encountered strong resistance from Durham before prevailing 10-8
in the Daily Telegraph Northern Counties League at Bishop Auckland.
A point adrift after the foursomes, the hosts gained the upper hand early in
the singles but the Red Rose men hit back thanks to impressive performances
from youngsters Jack Shelley and Joey Lamb and debutant Mike Howard.
The win moved defending champions Lancashire up to second place behind
Cheshire who have a superior points average.
