Welcome to the boys section of the LUGC website. Here you can find information on:-
Lancashire have produced a coaching programme which identifies the boys with the talent and dedication to play at county level.
Players who are under 17 years of age can apply for inclusion in the County Academy Programme (CAP).
Selection for the performance squads is carried out each year by the County boy’s manager, squad managers and coaches. Many factors are taken into consideration including performances, handicap, attitude and dedication.
Selection into a performance squad one year does not guarantee selection in future years as squads are continually reassessed.
Teams representing Lancashire in the various matches are selected from the performance squads and the County Academy Programme.
Under the guidance of Director of coaching Craig Lea boys are offered a high level of coaching from a very experienced team of coaches in the County.
"I have been part of the Lancashire player development pathway for a number of years and benefitted greatly from both CAP and Squad coaching. I have received a wealth of knowledge which has fast tracked my game and undoubtedly contributed to my success in the under 16 championship. I would like to thank Jim Payne (squad coach) and John Barclay (CAP coach) who continue to support my development along the County’s player pathway, and towards my goal of one day representing the Lancashire County men’s team."
Kieran Hogarth – U16 Champion 2018
"Lancashire golf is the best set up I’ve ever been involved in and it was a huge stepping stone in helping take my golf to the next level. Getting taught by some of the best coaches in the country helped improve my game massively. Each and every official involved in the programme care and have stayed involved with my golfing career."
Joe Bannan - Thomas University in Georgia USA
"Great team spirit, support and advice from coaches and county officials. Training days had a very friendly atmosphere with a competitive edge, very driven to improve individual and team performances. Will never forget my first cap and always a pleasure to wear and represent the red rose."
